What is the Health Science & Nursing Community?

Careers in Health Sciences and Nursing focus on improving health outcomes, providing patient care, and advancing medical research and public health initiatives. These fields are essential for ensuring community well-being and addressing a wide range of health-related challenges.

Health sciences encompasses a range of jobs, from research, diagnostic testing, therapy, and healthcare administration. Nurses provide direct patient care, educate patients, and collaborate with other healthcare providers to ensure holistic treatment. Both roles demand critical thinking, empathy, and a commitment to lifelong learning due to rapidly evolving medical knowledge and technologies.

UOG students can also consider a number of concentrations offered through the Margaret Perez Hattori-Uchima School of Health such as Pre-Physical Therapy, Exercise Science & Health Promotion, and Public Health.

Additionally, students can also explore a number of pre-professional programs (dental, optometry, veterinary, medical, pharmacy) offered through CNAS’s Division of Natural Sciences.
