As a clinical psychology graduate student, I am passionate about helping people through tough times, and this is not only limited to clinical situations. I am also a graduate student program assistant at I Pinangon, which is UOG’s campus suicide prevention program. I train students at a peer-level in suicide prevention through Gatekeeper Training presentations, and I plan outreach activities and forums to raise awareness about suicide prevention. Additionally, as part of the undergraduate and graduate program requirements for my major, I have interned at several mental health services on Guam, such as the Department of Corrections’ Mental Health Clinic, Isa Psychological Services Center, and Guam Behavioral Health and Wellness Center. Through different placements, I was able to learn about different populations and their specific needs for treatment. You can read more about my experiences in my resumé, which should be attached to my profile.

A little more about me: I try my best to be culturally sensitive, and I love to learn from people of all ages and backgrounds. I like to stay organized, with lists or planners, because I know my brain cannot memorize all that I need to do. I’m a Leo, and sometimes it shows lol. In my free time, I like to watch K-Drama, read sci-fi or fantasy books, and play cozy games like Animal Restaurant. Self-care and time management are really important to me.

In this mentorship program, I hope to connect with students who share the same interests or who would like to know more about this line of work. I certainly don’t have all the answers, but I can share what I learned throughout my journey.
