Mercy Corps, in partnership with USAID, invites applications for the Knowledge Management Intern position based in Monrovia, Liberia. This internship, spanning from May to August 2024, offers a unique opportunity for interns to engage in the Incentivize Learning Activity (ILA), a 5-year project aimed at increasing enrollment and attendance for vulnerable school-age children in Liberia.

The Knowledge Management Intern is responsible for documenting and communicating results and learning about Mercy Corps’ programs for a range of stakeholders including donors, government agencies, internal staff and participants. They work closely with Mercy Corps Liberia departments and partners, to raise awareness about our work and engage audiences with stories and information of interest. This position has high potential for growth and development, and will include significant exposure to program and grant management functions.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a designated minority-serving institution (MSI) in the US in any relevant field; pursuing or recently completed a graduate degree from a designated minority-serving institution (MSI) in the US;
  • Exceptional written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills in English;
  • Experience in writing, communications, journalism, reporting and/or knowledge management;
  • Experience developing captivating content;
  • Ability to uphold a strict level of confidentiality;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites, experience with design software (Adobe, Canva, etc) preferred;
  • Exceptional time management, planning and organizational skills;
  • Ability to work independently, dynamically and effectively under pressure;
  • Ability to coordinate and collaborate across departments with a variety of stakeholders;
  • Must be analytical, detail-oriented, conscientious and flexible;
  • Self-starter and persistent.
