The USDA Forest Service is hiring student and recent graduate positions in engineering, physical science, land surveying and geographic information systems across the nation (see attached STEM flyer). As well, the Forest Service in conjunction with Office of Personnel Management is hiring Presidential Management Fellow (PMF) positions (see attached PMF flyer).

For the Engineering Technical Series (0802), folks can qualify at the GS-3 to GS-5 grade levels not only with engineering, engineering or industrial technology, construction units, but also with physics, drafting, surveying, physical science, or mathematics coursework. Applicants with earth science, environmental sciences, and vocational degrees may also qualify for Engineering Technician jobs.
For non-students, prior or current Forest Service temporary and term employees may qualify under merit positions through Land & Base Management Hiring Path or Land Mgt. Workforce Flexibility Act (LMWFA) with 24 months or more of service time. See USAJOBS eligibility and qualifications.
