Stellher Human Services is seeking an experienced, licensed mental health professional or qualified practitioner to join our team in our Bemidji, MN out-patient office.

The Mental Health Professional is responsible to provide diagnostic assessments, therapy, and counseling support services for a mixed caseload including adults, adolescents, and families experiencing mental health issues, communication challenges, or family conflict. The Mental Health Professional will be familiar with other services and resources in the community and work closely with them to provide information and support when required.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Assists the client in completing needed intake paperwork.
- Completes diagnostic assessments and completes or refers clients for other needed psychological evaluations.
- Develops a treatment plan.
- Provides individual, group, marriage and family psychotherapy to individual adults, couples, families, adolescents, and children.
- Evaluates the client’s progress toward treatment goals.
- Maintains complete and current client case files, including detailed progress notes, billing logs and other required documentation on services provided and on each client’s progress.
- Consults with client’s primary care provider, psychiatric services and other mental health services and coordinates treatment as needed.
- Incorporates extended family members into the planning and implementation of treatment as appropriate.
- Assists families in developing and utilizing a crisis management plan when needed.
- Makes referrals for other needed services and coordinates treatment with other community services that the family is receiving.
- May provide clinical supervision of the work of assigned Mental Health Practitioners.
- Conducts activities related to compliance with federal and state laws related to mandated reporting, HIPAA, and the Data Privacy Act.
- Specific duties related to the Outpatient Program include:
- Maintain current and timely Diagnostic Assessments, Individual Treatment Plans, Treatment Plan Updates and Progress Notes.
- Complete billing logs and progress notes each week
- Treats clients and coworkers with dignity and respect.

- Carries out other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
· Experience in the delivery of clinical services in an outpatient setting highly desirable.
· Must have certification for third-party reimbursement.
· Knowledge of human behavior and performance; individual differences in ability, personality, and interests; learning and motivation; psychological research methods; and the assessment and treatment of behavioral and affective disorders.
· Knowledge of group behavior and dynamics, societal trends and influences, human migrations, ethnicity, and cultures and their history and origins.
· Demonstrated ability to interact with families from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.
· Able to work independently within established guidelines and with limited supervision and assistance.
· Able to travel to and from meetings with families, school officials, and other agencies.
· Able to communicate clearly and effectively with other professionals in verbal and written formats.
· Able to conduct sessions via a secure telehealth platform.
Education and Experience:
· Ph.D. or Master’s degree in one of the behavioral sciences and licensed or on licensure track under Minnesota Statues as a psychologist, clinical social worker, marriage and family therapist, clinical counselor, or psychiatric nurse.
