Love being on the water? Want to spend your summer outdoors, teaching campers the skills and joy of paddling? Join Camp Winnebago as a Boating & Canoeing Instructor and lead fun, safe, and skill-building sessions on beautiful Echo Lake in Maine!
We’re looking for enthusiastic and responsible individuals to teach flatwater canoeing, rowing, and small-craft handling while building camper confidence and fostering a love for the outdoors. Whether you’re an experienced paddler or just love being on the water, this is an amazing opportunity to gain hands-on teaching experience, build leadership skills, and be part of an unforgettable summer community.
What You’ll Do:
🚣 Teach Canoeing & Boating Skills – Lead daily instructional sessions in basic paddling, steering, safety, and teamwork on the lake.
🌊 Run Games & Adventures – Make boating exciting with challenges, relays, water games, and exploration.
🛶 Ensure Safety at All Times – Maintain safe boating practices, oversee equipment, and follow camp and waterfront guidelines.
🌲 Engage in Camp Life – Participate in evening programs, camp traditions, and team bonding, all while building relationships that last a lifetime.
What We’re Looking For:
✔️ Experience in canoeing, rowing, kayaking, or boating (or strong interest in learning—training provided)
✔️ Comfortable on the water and committed to safety
✔️ Strong communication and group leadership skills
✔️ Lifeguard certification a plus (or willingness to obtain—camp will provide training)
✔️ Positive, flexible, and team-oriented attitude
🔹 This is a paid summer position with housing, meals, and training provided
